Chris was born in 1980 and raised in Lonepine, Montana, in Sanders County on the Flathead Indian Reservation. He went to high school in Hot Springs, a town of 500 people located six miles south of Lonepine, and graduated in 1998. Chris spent his high school summers working on his uncle's bee farm.
After attending the University of Montana from 1998 to 2003, Chris obtained a degree in computer science with an emphasis on software systems development. During college, Chris alternated between working for a grocery store during the school year and working as a wild land firefighter during the summers.
In 2005 Chris began the course at the University of Montana School of Law and received his J. D. in 2008. In law school Chris was a member of the Student Bar Association and the Rural Advocacy League. He was also a staff member of the Montana Law Review and received an award in his Article 9 Secured Transactions class. Following graduation and successful passage of the Montana Bar Exam, Chris started employment with Moulton Bellingham.
Chris is a member of the State Bar of Montana’s Technology Committee, where he gets the opportunity to utilize his computer science degree, and he is a member of the State Bar of Montana’s New Lawyers’ Section. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Montana and the Yellowstone Area Bar Association. Chris was admitted to practice law in North Dakota in 2010.
When not at work, Chris can usually be found fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, or at a local outdoor store checking out the latest equipment. He also enjoys traveling to western Montana to visit family and friends.
