Brad was born in Missoula, Montana, on February 4, 1959, while his father was attending law school at the University of Montana in Missoula. As an infant, Brad was regularly at the law school, so it was not surprising that he felt the urge to return years later as a law student. While growing up as a child, Brad lived all over Montana including Missoula, Helena, Billings and Bozeman. His lifelong familiarity with the state is a plus to Brad's statewide litigation practice, as he is familiar with juror attitudes that predominate in the different regions of the state.
Brad earned his BA degree, with honors, from Montana State University in 1982, and his JD degree from the University of Montana in 1984. While an undergrad, Brad was a Northwest Area Foundation Scholar. During the 1990's, he served as the Chair of the Paralegal Studies Department at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. He has also assisted the Yellowstone Art Center Fund Drive campaigns. Brad frequently takes advantage of the outdoor recreational opportunities that exist in the State. He loves to fly fish, mountain bike, hike, ski and sail. He is particularly fond of bird hunting with his yellow Labrador Kate, since she does most of the work and he gets most of the credit.
Brad is admitted to all state and federal courts in Montana. His statewide litigation practice focuses on issues of insurance coverage, products liability, commercial disputes, professional negligence, and personal injury. A significant part of Brad’s practice also consists of being retained by other Montana attorneys as a mediator. Brad has received the AV Peer Review Rating from LexisNexus Martindale-Hubbell, in addition to other professional awards throughout his long legal career.
Brad served as Past President of Moulton Bellingham from 2002-2005.
